Here is the section on product info:
Product Information
The marketing strategy for Alli is to get consumers to think of it as a program, not a just pill. Alli focuses on education and support. The consumer will then be able to make appropriate changes and decisions about their diet and lifestyle.
Alli, which was launched in US markets in June 2007, is the first FDA approved, over the counter weight loss supplement!
The alli starter pack comes in different sizes and the recommended dosage is one 60mg orlistat capsule, three times a day, to be taken with meals that contain fat. The starter packs includes a “Read Me First Guide”, “Welcome and Companion Guides”, “Guide to Healthy Eating”, “Daily Journal”, “Calorie and Fat Counter”, “Quick Facts Cards” , free access to a customized game plan at www.myalli.com , and a small carrying case called the Shuttle for the pills.
Orlistat is the generic name of the active ingredient in Alli. The prescription product, Xenical, has been sold since 1999 and is available in 120 mg pills. Orlistat limits the breakdown and absorption of fat in the intestine and also keeps a person from absorbing the calories. Since the fat is not absorbed, it just goes through the consumer’s system. Orlistat has proven to be safe and effective by millions of people worldwide who use it.
Alli blocks 25% of fat in foods; it must be used with a reduced-calorie, low fat diet.
Education and changing behaviors are critical aspects of the Alli program. Consumers receive the 24 hour a day myalliplan when they purchase a starter pack. It includes customized online action plan recipes, meal plans and shopping lists, online tools to record food and lifestyle information, connection to a network of other alli users, personalized e-mails of lessons on: meal planning, managing hunger, dealing with setbacks, and making the food and lifestyle changes to help people succeed.
