Hi, I'm Diego an accounting major from the Bronx. I have never taken a tax course before but am eagar to get started.
I don't have any kids yet. I will graduate from the NY campus next August.
I plan to go to grad school- either NYU or Fordham. Eventually I will become a CPA.
I enjoy working out; personal wellness is like a hobby of mine.
The major reason for the federal tax system is raising revenue for the government. As the text states- economic, social, equity, and political factors also play a role.
Taxes help with controlling the economy, encouraging certain activities, industries, and small business.
I think that the so called economic "stimulus checks" given out this year is an example of the federal tax system trying to control the economy.
It didn't really boost consumer spending though.
As the attached article states, many consumers saved their rebate checks. I know a few people who used their checks to pay bills.
