There are 3 types of fats. Mono and the poly one are good. You should reduce the amount of saturated fat and don't even think about trans fats. Here are ways to reduce saturated fats:
- steam, boil, broil, or microwave vegetables or you can stir fry them. I like olive oil, so use a lil of that.
- use herbs and spices on vegetables instead of sauces, butter, or margarine.
-skip whole milk and use skim or low-fat milk
- eat lean cuts of meat, and take off the fat from meats before and after cooking.
- take the skin off chicken and turkey before or after cooking.
- use nonstick pan and or non stick spray- such as Pam
