BSOP- Process Strategy

DeVry is a service that uses repetitive focus. I was debating between mass customization & repetitive, but I think its repetitive.

(Using Table 7.2)

1. An array of degrees are offerred, but many require the completion of the same courses. A standardized degree is offerred.
2. Some courses require the use of specific tools for that course, such as lab equipment.
3. The professors are modestly trained for their subject area. English professors typicaly aren't trained to also teach Accounting.
4. DeVry tends to operate the same each semester. Procedures are followed the same way. Admissions has a procedure, financial aid, professors, etc. These repetitive operations reduce the need for changes in job instructions.
5/6. Just-in-time is used. Students enroll in classes they want to take. Once there is demand, then the class takes place.
9. Many models are made based on enrollment numbers and declared majors to forcast what classes need to be offerred and how many & which type of professor to hire.
